Room Size Recommend Air Conditioner Horsepower
14 x 14 feet 1.0 HP − 1.5 HP
14 x 16 feet 1.5 HP
15 x 16 feet 1.5 HP − 2.0 HP
18 x 18 feet 2.0 HP − 2.5 HP
21 x 21 feet 2.5 HP − 3.0 HP
Air Conditioner Horsepower BTU Range
1.0 HP 9,000 − 9,700
1.5 HP 12,000 − 12,300
2.0 HP 18,000 − 19,000
2.5 HP 22,500 − 24,000
3.0 HP 30,000

* The tables above provide recommended horsepower and BTU ranges for reference purposes and should be used as general guidelines only.

What Is BTU?
BTU is the most important thing to look out for when selecting an Air Conditioner. The right value is highly essential to make sure that the Air Conditioner is working at peak efficiency.

  1. The British Thermal Unit (BTU) is the international measurement of energy.
  2. A BTU measures the amount of heat an air conditioner unit can remove from the room.
  3. As the BTU rating increases, so does the size, weight and cost of the air conditioner.

Room Size

  1. Calculate the floor space by measuring the length and width of the room. Assuming normal floor height of 10ft (3m).
  2. If the air conditioning unit installed is undersized for your room, it could take long time to cool the space or none at all.
  3. Conversely, an oversized air conditioner may lead to excessive sweating and frequent compressor cut off.

Step 2: Choose Air-Conditioner Type

Wall Mounted

Normal enclosed space

Ceiling Cassette

-Larger area coverage
-4 dimensional cooling comfort

Moveo

Mobility and Versatility
Spot cooling comfort

Step 3: Choose Inverter or Non-Inverter

Non-Inverter

Inverter Air Conditioner (AC) Vs Non-Inverter Air Conditioner (AC): Which One Is Right For You?

  1. Cost: While inverter AC usually require a higher upfront cost, but they can be more cost-effective in the long run due to their energy efficiency and lead to lower electricity bills.
  2. Temperature Consistency: Non-inverter AC may experience fluctuations in room temperature, whereas inverter models keep it stable.
  3. Usage Hours: Inverter AC will show better energy efficiency results if it is operated more than 4 hours a day.
